The HOKA Mafate 5 is built for long, technical trails that demand maximum grip, protection, and cushioning. The biggest leap from its predecessor: HOKA has completely reimagined the iconic Mafate line with a brand-new dual-density midsole, increased stack height, and the introduction of Rocker Integrity Technology.

The dual-density midsole pairs a supercritical foam (SCF) EVA top layer — light, responsive, and energetic — with a firmer CMEVA underlayer in the forefoot for stability and durability. The stack height rises to 45 mm heel / 37 mm forefoot, with a drop of 8 mm (raised from 4 mm in the previous version) for a smooth heel-roll transition. The new Rocker Integrity Technology — a forefoot stiffening plate with wing-like extensions — preserves the rocker shape and enhances stability even as the foam softens over time.

The Vibram® Megagrip outsole with 5 mm traction lugs delivers unmatched grip on rocky, steep, and slick terrain. The warp knit upper with TPU cage, anti-fray treatment, and patent-pending dynamic vamp wraps the foot securely without pressure points. Gaiter attachment points and a heel-focused Active Foot Frame complete this all-terrain technical trail platform.
